Youth Engagement

Temple Israel youth groups enthusiastically serve our 6th through 12th grade students—helping them build community, Jewish identity, and leadership skills. Our informal youth group program is a wonderful complement to our Torah Center.

TI 678

TI 678 is Temple Israel’s middle school youth group. TI 678 typically holds quarterly social activities, regional events with other Reform congregations in the area, and an overnight retreat. All events include fun community building; Jewish learning and social justice; and engaging students in Jewish life.

ANDI

ANDI (Adolescents Now Doing Incredible Things) is Long Beach’s largest 9th thru 12th grade Jewish youth group, and a proud chapter of the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY). All programs are planned by our student-run ANDI board with guidance from our Youth Director. ANDI plans many social, cultural, and social action events, including the popular TI Lock-in, the ANDI All-Nighter, the Teen Rosh Hashanah Service, and the religious school Purim shpiel. Regional weekend NFTY retreats are another highlight!
