Temple Israel has a longstanding relationship with the Greater Long Beach community. Our founding families also helped establish the Alpert Jewish Community Center on the Weinberg Jewish Long Beach Campus, where we collaborate for community-wide holiday and educational programming.
Temple Israel also joins with others for our annual Make A Difference Day – a day of community service. We partner with the Belmont Heights Community Association, Belmont Heights United Methodist Church, Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, the office of our 3rd District Councilwoman Suzie Price, and The LGBTQ Center Long Beach.
We have welcomed the current and past Long Beach Mayors into our facility, hosted programs for the City of Long Beach, partnered with the Port of Long Beach, and continue to foster relationships throughout Greater Long Beach as the largest Reform Jewish community in the area.
