Banned Books Discussion

Judaism places a significant emphasis on books and written texts, considering them crucial sources of knowledge, guidance, and spiritual insight. To coincide with The American Library Association’s Banned Book Week 2023, temple member Matt Davis will lead and facilitate a discussion of All the Rivers by Dorit Rabinyan. This book was selected from the “Jewish Banned Books” list from the Jewish Book Council. The novel is a beautiful and complex tale of an intercultural love story and how the personal becomes political. It shows how the juggernaut of social forces impacts joy and freedom. The program will take place during Sukkot, and we look forward to hosting this event at a time of gratitude and appreciation of the blessings of life.
Program limited to first 20 registrants to allow for group discussion.
