Did you know that Temple Israel has a pipe organ? While some associate the sound of the organ with the church, the organ was the principal instrument of accompaniment for Shabbat worship in the Reform movement from the mid-19th century until recent times. Join Cantor Emeritus Marvin Finnley and Organist David York for a look at the history of the use of the organ in the Reform movement, concluding with a tour of the organ loft at Temple Israel.
