SABBATH: A TIME OF FELLOWSHIP FOR ALL OF USby Rabbi Steven Moskowitz The first Sabbath of every month has become a very special time for me. And lately it has become even more so. Rabbi Wolli Kaelter started the Sabbath Fellowship program many years ago as a special opportunity for seniors to meet for Saturday morning prayer and then to socialize over a wonderful meal cooked and served by the Kitchen Kabinet, volunteers from our congregation. This luncheon is followed by joyous entertainment, all of which is organized by our own local impresario Walter Gobas.
Joining us at these Sabbath Fellowship services have been members of our b'nai mitzvah class, who help me with the Torah service and later assist the Kitchen Kabinet in serving the food and clearing away the dishes. In addition to helping out with the food service, these young members of our congregation have also brought great pleasure and joy to our seniors by their gracious and respectful attentiveness to them. I am very proud of them. The Sabbath Fellowship service is held on Our b'nai mitzvah musical trio will be there.
